The elderly hippies around here are getting younger and younger.

Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow
Ah, but I was so much older then
I'm younger than that now

The Grateful Dead should have had a go at that one.

Good call, Rob. As I've learned, trolls are yummy for breakfast, with some Bob Dylan playing in the background.

It would be cool if Furthur covered this with all of them trading off verses and sharing the refrain. I would love to hear Phil singing this with his rich honest voice and seemingly ever-present smile.

It's that open, honest and unfussy approach that I enjoy too but I think you and I may well be the only two people here who feel that way about Phil's singing.

Heard him sing Eyes of the World and Franklin's Tower on 7/4/2009 with The Dead and it was simply splendid.

I choose to experience love for anything Phil tries to sing. It isn’t too hard – the man is my brother and we go back a ways. Yep, I love it when he sings, sure do.

I'm just grateful that he's still with us and still giving.

It probably began w/ that '99 Warfield rec. ( wonder where I got that ? ) and was shocked by how much better his voice sounded this summer .

I'm afraid, yes. Best I can say is that he's enthusiastic.
